In Lystra there sat a man who was lame. He had been that way from birth and had never walked. He listened to Paul as he was speaking. Paul looked directly at him, saw that he had faith to be healed and called out, “Stand up on your feet!” At that, the man jumped up and began to walk. Acts 14:8-10 (NIV)
From what is written above, the lame man i Lystra already had the faith to be healed, but still he wasn’t! Not until Paul called out “stand up on your feet” and the lame started to move his feet. Only then, did the healing actually occur. Paul taught the lame man how to put his faith into action – to exercise his authority. Faith alone will not heal, you also have to exercise your authority (Matt. 8:5-13, Luke 17:5-10). That`s what Jesus refers to as faith in the area of divine healing (Matt. 8:8-10).
Understanding and using your authority in Christ, are the fundamental keys of divine healing.
